My Cindy Journey Comes To A Close...
10 months. 214 performances. 88 cities. 36 states. I am forever thankful to our creatives, cast, crew, and the Work Light family for making this journey one I will never forget. Making my National Tour debut at 20 was terrifying, but the amount I’ve learned from every person in this company, good and bad, has forever changed me as a performer and person. Spreading kindness for a living will be something I am forever grateful to have been a part of, and something our world needs now more than ever.
“Now go, with the promise of possibility!”
Thanks Cindy!
Drama Club Enjoys Workshop with Special Guest →
“Just before the end of the School year, the Drama Club at Doane Stuart had the pleasure of welcoming special guest, and professional actress, Nicole Zelka. Nicole is from Colonie, NY and is currently performing in the National Tour cast of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella as Gabrielle, and understudying the character Marie. In addition to working on some acting and singing techniques, the students enjoyed their time asking questions about touring and the skills and lessons she has learned along the way. They also enjoyed telling her about our very own production of Cinderella in the Fall.”
Capital Region! Check it out!
"Hometown celebs, Millenials that made it" →
Thanks for thinking of me, Capital Region!
“t’s not every day that your dreams knock on your door before you even finish college. But for two Capital Region natives, Jordan Hoose and Nicole Zelka, this was their reality. Through hard work, dedication to their passions, support from the coaches, teachers, families and producers in the Capital Region, these two twenty-somethings have beat the odds and are leading lives as touring entertainers.”
Visiting Where It All Started...
This past layoff from tour, I was able to go visit my old middle school drama club where it all started for me. They are currently rehearsing for their production of "Cinderella" and to be able to talk to the kids and tell them about my journey so far was magical. I am going back to tour more inspired than ever! Never stop doing what you love! Break a leg kiddies!
Nicole Zelka finds laughs in revised 'Cinderella' →
Check out some press I did for Cindy! See you soon, Sioux City, IA!
March 29th @ 7:30pm playing at the Orpheum Theatre
“Growing up in Albany, New York, Zelka started performing when she was 10, setting her sights on a career in entertainment. As high school graduation approached, she applied to a number of musical theater programs and didn’t get in any. “I thought it was the end of the world,” she says. “I didn’t know if I wanted to do it anymore.” Then she applied to AMDA, a two-year program, and found it was the perfect fit. Since classes were held at night, she could audition during the day and get a taste of the real world. Last summer, she appeared in “Mamma Mia” in Albany, then landed the “Cinderella” gig. The one-two punch has been ideal, particularly since “I’d be a junior in college if I had gotten into one of those programs. Now, I’m actually working.””
